Over a month later people are still talking about my 50th birthday party at Amici. Some people who attended the party from out of town have already returned to Amici. We visit Amici several times a year. They consistently provide a 5* plus experience. Yes it’s food but there is food and there is food and this is home made and cooked to order and has never been anything less than perfect. Ivan struggles to accept compliments and has no idea how good his
food actually is.

So we set up a meeting to sort my party. We had an hour with complimentary drinks and the offer of food. We could have had 2/ 3 hours to sort my party if that’s what it had taken. We were never rushed. Ivan prepared a menu specifically for our party to suit all. We tried to “make life easy” for him with some of our suggestions but he refused to take shortcuts or compromise on his standards. He asked me politely not to “insult” him as 2 people or 50 people everyone would get the same service.

Having been to an Italian themed night previously we had seen two brilliant Italian singers. We asked if we could have them at the party and Ivan arranged this for us. The day of the party 50+ people to cater for. Everything was perfect, the food the drink the staff …… it could not have been more perfect. The two singers started the mood off with classic Italian changing tempo as the afternoon progressed. Everyone ended up singing and dancing. We ran over our allotted time with no complaints from the staff leaving them about 20 minutes to turn the restaurant around ready for evening service.

I and many others will never forget that day. Amici can do anything, from a calm romantic atmosphere to any theme you like to a full blown party like ours. Well done to Ivan, his family and his team. I would recommend this restaurant any day of the week. If you have never been then go, regular or new diners will always be treated with the same high standard. Thank you.</p>
